The Ultraseal ePRO (formerly the eSeal) is a fully electric, fully automatic microplate and tube rack sealer. With no compressed air required, it removes the risk of cross contamination inherent in pneumatically driven sealers.

Where standard sealers reach their limit, the XT-PRO seals plates up to 76mm high and vials and tubes up to 100mm high, at up to 6 plates per minute. Compatible with a wide range of plate materials and sealing films, it handles everything from routine storage to demanding assay and PCR workflows.
The Ultraseal XT-PRO is a fully automated heat-applied microplate and tube rack sealer designed for laboratories that require reliable, high-performance sealing across a broad range of labware heights. The system advances rolls of surface-modified aluminium or plastic film, cuts the film to between 125mm and 130mm, and applies it directly to the plate surface in a single inline process. The result is a consistent, reproducible seal suitable for a wide range of applications.
The XT-PRO is designed for maximum compatibility. It accepts plates up to 76mm high and vials and tubes up to 100mm high, covering shallow and deep well formats, tube racks and custom mouldings. Compatible plate materials include polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylene, CoC and CoP, and the unit supports an extensive range of sealing films and foils to meet different assay and storage requirements.
Built-in sensors monitor seal integrity throughout each cycle, and sealing parameters are controlled through password-protected programmes with adjustable settings. An optional gas purge function provides an enhanced protective barrier for sensitive samples. The Ultraseal XT-PRO is fully compatible with robotic and automated systems, and requires both an electrical supply and a compressed air supply.
The Ultraseal XT-PRO is designed and manufactured by Kbiosystems, part of Porvair Life Sciences. It carries UKCA and CE certification.
