Semi-automated benchtop heat-applied microplate sealer

Fully electric with no compressed air required, it uses pre-cut sealing film sheets and a simple slide-and-seal operation. Auto-adjusting sensors accommodate plates from 9mm to 48mm high without spacers or adjustment, and the unit automatically ejects the sealed plate on completion.

The Ultraseal LITE

The Ultraseal LITE is a semi-automated, heat-applied microplate and tube rack sealer designed for lower throughput laboratory use. Pre-cut sheets of surface-modified aluminium or plastic film, approximately 78mm wide and 130mm long, are placed on the plate surface. Closing the sliding drawer initiates the sealing programme, and the plate is automatically ejected on completion. 

Auto-adjusting sensors detect plate height automatically, handling plates from 9mm to 48mm high without spacers or manual adjustment. Heat and seal time parameters are programmable via the touchscreen control, with a temperature range of ambient to 200°C and a seal time range of 0.1 to 9.9 seconds. This allows the unit to be optimised for a wide range of sealing films and foils. 

The Ultraseal LITE is fully electric with no compressed air required. Compatible plate materials include polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, CoC and CoP, and a range of sealing films is supported including optically clear, low temperature and gas permeable films. The unit is compatible with ANSI standard SBS format plates and vial holders, and is suited to PCR, qPCR, assay and storage applications. 

The Ultraseal LITE is designed and manufactured by Kbiosystems, part of Porvair Life Sciences. It carries UKCA and CE certification.
