The Ultraseal CAP-PRO is a semi-automated cap and mat applicator for SBS format tube racks. It is designed to eliminate the variability and physical effort of applying friction sealing mats or septum sealing caps manually. The operator places the rack or plate together with its friction mat or septum cap web in the drawer and closes it firmly. Pressing the large, glove-friendly start button initiates the cycle, and the electronics apply consistent, even pressure to force the seals down into each tube.
Three adjustable pressure settings allow the sealing force to be matched to the specific plate and cap combination in use. The unit handles friction and septum seals for 96-, 48- and 24-tube plates, and is compatible with most commercially available septum cap mats. It supports both 2D-coded and uncoded tubes in SBS-format racks.
The Ultraseal CAP-PRO is supplied with 4.5mm and 14mm high rack adaptors as standard, with alternative adaptors available to order. The unit requires only a 110V or 220V electrical supply, with no compressed air needed, and is compact enough to sit on a standard lab bench.
The Ultraseal CAP-PRO is designed and manufactured by Kbiosystems, part of Porvair Life Sciences. It carries UKCA and CE certification.
