With picking accuracy in excess of 98.5% and a throughput of 800 colonies per hour, the K6³ works with a wide range of source and destination labware formats. It is available in three configurations to match different levels of workflow automation.

The K6³

The K6³ is an automated colony picking system for laboratories looking for reliable, consistent identification and extraction of colonies for sample recovery. Picking accuracy is in excess of 98.5%, with full positional feedback and imaging via a USB3 camera system. 

The K6³ works with a wide range of source and destination labware. Compatible formats include microplates (96 and 384 well, shallow and deep well), Petri dishes from 4 to 15cm, Omni-style trays, multi-well growth plates and bio assay trays. Different pin types allow transfer volumes to be defined, and all pins are manufactured in 316 stainless steel for ease of cleaning and longevity. 

The system is available in three configurations. The K6³ picker is the standalone unit. The K6³ XT adds automated destination plates in single or dual lane format. The K6³ XL extends this further with automated source trays and destination plates, also available in single or dual lane configuration. 

The K6³ is designed and manufactured by Kbiosystems, part of Porvair Life Sciences. It carries UKCA and CE certification.
